Judai and Ryan Not Bothered By Pregnancy Rumors

Latest rumors saying that Judy Ann Santos and fiancé Ryan Agoncillo were expecting a child have been swirling but the couple quickly denied this during their recent interview on "The Buzz."

Meanwhile Ryan revealed that he and Judy Ann have already chosen an ideal location for their future dream house and that his next target is to begin building it.

"Nasa balak ko na ‘yon. Kumbaga, to do this ko na ‘yon in the near future," Ryan shared.

Meanwhile, Judy Ann reiterated that there is no specific date yet as to when their wedding is going to take place. "We cannot actually say kung anong date kasi hindi pa namin talaga napag-uusapan. It can happen this year, but it will definitely happen."

Besides their personal lives, both Judy Ann and Ryan are busy with their careers. Ryan just came back from hosting Pinoy Fear Factor in Argentina, while Judy Ann is shooting her next teleserye, Humingi Ako Sa Langit, which is due to start really soon on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.

The actress, who is playing a nurse on the teleserye said that she prepared for her role to make sure that she is convincing on her part. Tinignan ko kung paano sila kumilos," she said.

She added that her preparations also include observing doctors and nurses whenever she goes to a hospital for a check-up and the medical staff present during the show’s actual taping.

Piolo is Impressed With Osang’s Professionalism In ‘Manila’

Some people believe that Piolo Pascual is the reigning King of Primetime Bida for he has proven that he’s an actor worth his salt time and again. Indeed, he continues to widen his horizons by venturing into his third indie film titled "Manila," a tribute to two of the most critically-acclaimed filmmakers in the Philippine cinema, the late Ishmael Bernal and Lino Brocka.

Inspired by "Manila By Night" and "Jaguar," the two-part movie portrays an honest depiction of the cruel realities of street-life in the slums of Manila. Far-removed from his poster boy image, the country’s ultimate heartthrob plays a role of a drug addict and then a bodyguard of a merciless city official who betrays his loyalty.

Now in its post-production stage, Piolo, who also happens to be the co-producer of this indie film, feels very happy that he was able to finish filming it just before he started "Land Down Under" by Star Cinema. Incidentally, his sense of pride extends to his co-stars in his latest artistic endeavor particularly Rosanna Roces who plays his mother in the first part of the film (where all the scenes are shot in full daylight).

Despite the controversial actress’s pasaway image, Piolo reveals that Rosanna has been nothing but professional from the moment she learned that she was going to be a part of the cast.

"May call time siya na 3 a.m. She was there on time, never kaming na-delay because of her. She even visited our set before siya mag-shoot, twice, just to have a feel of how it is to be a mother kasi first time kaming magka-trabaho. And she's so supportive, napakasarap niyang ka-trabaho, ang gaan," he says.

Apparently, their first scene together proves to be a challenging one because Rosanna has to drag Piolo from the hospital to their home while viciously hitting him in the process (perhaps somewhat reminiscent of Osang’s terrible mother-daughter relationship with Roxanne Guinoo in Sineserye Presents Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos). After taking several shots of the brutal sequence, Piolo explains that a little pain on his part was to be expected.

"Only because it had to be realistic. Yung eksena kasi madaming shots eh so she was compelled to hit me a couple of times, more than five times.

With such a promising plot, it seems that both Piolo and Rosanna are out to wow indie film enthusiasts as they are both respected artists in the entertainment industry.

"She's really very professional. Enjoy akong nakasama siya. I wish there’d be more time and other projects na magkakasama kami ng mas matagal na panahon," Piolo remarks.

Directed by Adolf Alix, Manila’s all-star cast also includes Jodi Sta. Maria, Alessandra de Rossi, Angelica Panganiban, Jon Avila, and William Martinez among others.

Sam Milby Prepares For His First Solo Concert

Popular young actor Sam Milby will prove his versatility as he readies for his first major solo cocert dubbed as "The Rockoustic Heartthrob" on October 25th at the Aliw Theater.

The word "Rockoustic" according to Milby is the combination of acoustic and rock songs that he is going to perform for the concert.

Milby said that he is now busy preparing for the show.

Maraming maraming rehearsals para handang handa ako," Milby said.

He said that as part of the preparations for the show they are now completing the list of songs that he is going to sing.

The actor admitted that he is nervous for his upcoming concert. But he said that he will surely give his best to satisy his audience.

"Mahirap kasi first time ko ito, and I'm the shy type. I'm a "stage fright" person, pero I hope to overcome my fear and have fun. May pressure din kasi first solo concert dapat maganda yung first," he said.

Journey's Pineda

To make Milby's concert more memorable, popular rock band Journey's lead vocalist Arnel Pineda will be part of the show.

Milby said that he is really excited to see Pineda and it will be a great pleasure if he could perform a duet with Journey's main man.

"Wala pa silang sinabi kung may duet pero sobra kung maka-duet... he's from a famous international band," he said.

Milby said he hasn't had the chance to meet Pineda. He said that if they will perform together, he will make sure he gets to choose which parts he will sing.

"He will take the high notes, I will take the low notes," Milby joked.

No love

"We are really concentrating on our careers," this is what Milby says when asked about rumored girlfriend Anne Curtis after reports surfaced that they already parted ways.

Milby admitted that they had problems but added that these were already solved. He said they are both busy with showbiz commitments, so they both decided to focus on their work first.

The actor also denied rumors that the cause of their rift was Curtis’ intimate scenes for the movie “Baler” with actor Jericho Rosales.

Walang ganyan. Kami parehas, ako medyo seloso, medyo selosa din siya pero wala kaming problemang ganyan,” he said.

Milby said that right now Curtis is busy with “Dyosa”, while he is busy with his concert and a movie under Star Cinema.

Dennis Trillo nervous about his title role in Gagambino

No Media Fanfare

Actress Rita Avila Launches Inspirational Book

Actress Rita Avila recently launched an inspirational book at the Mall of Asia SMX function hall in Roxas Boulevard with simple rites.

“8 Ways to Comfort with Grace” is a booklet written by a grieving mom on a lost child. Avila may surprise readers with her not-exactly-conventional thoughts about people’s behavior on grief.

All centering on her sad moments when she and her husband director Erick (EM) Reyes lost their three-week old son Elia Jesu E. Reyes in 2006, Avila’s prescriptions on how to cope with loneliness and hopelessness are very frank and candid.

As part of the Manila International Book Fair celebration, St. Paul’s Publishing hosted the launch of Avila's compressed, tight and direct revelation of her experiences.

The book however bite-sized and missal-typed offers concrete advice on the right attitude when attending a funeral wake, condoling with bereaved ones, talking to the grieving party after the tragedy, and the like.

The author advises mourners not to use clichĂ©s like “Your loved one is in heaven now,” when trying to console the bereaved.

Avila said one should check first the religion of the bereaved ones before mouthing such hackneyed phrases.

According to her account, when somebody reprimanded her one day after the death of her son not to cry and simply move on, she got upset and wished that person dead. She said she was serious in that wish. How could she move on so suddenly, she asked, when her son had just died the day before the cremation?

Avila also said fewer and shorter words are better during condoling instead of kilometric sentences of wisdom and consolation.

Asked if they had any plans of having another child, she replied, “Wala pa. Hindi pa panahon.”

No Truth To Rumors of Ely Buendia's Death

Former Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia dead? Perish the thought.

This, in essence was the response of Day Cabuhat, Ely's manager, after rumors of Buendia's death circulated like wildfire early this week.

"He (Ely) is alive and well and eating pistachios," Cabuhat said.

Cabuhat said the 37-year-old vocalist just laughed at reports that he had died after undergoing an angioplasty last September 1 following the aborted Eraserheads' reunion concert last month.

Buendia experienced chest pains and reportedly collapsed backstage after the first set of the long-awaited reunion concert held at the Fort Bonifacio Open Field in Taguig City on August 30. He was transferred to the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) the next day after being treated at the Makati Medical Center's emergency room.

Cabuhat assured Buendia's fans and supporters that the Pupil frontman is now doing better and is recovering from surgery.
